Trust in the Lord for he is our Protector
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber”
Growing up as a child I remember going on long road trips with my family. You know the ones where you wake up at the crack of dawn and travel all day long into the night. We would all try our very best to keep daddy entertained so he wouldn’t feel tired, but like Peter, James and John in Gethsemane with Jesus, my sisters and I along with my mother eventually dozed off and fell asleep. We slept peacefully knowing daddy was driving and trusted that he wouldn’t fall asleep and would take us safely to our destination.
Psalms 121 reminds me of how marvellous our heavenly father is. He will never tire and will keep watch over his people. We are reminded that he is the Alpha and Omega, beginning and end; he is our helper and the creator of heaven and Earth. How can we not put our trust in the creator? I constantly pray for the Lord’s protection over myself and my family in our daily travels and in all that we do, but I should know better! The Lord has proclaimed his protection, it is now my faithfulness that needs to trust in the Lord and know he is my protector. We tend to cling to these words when times are tough but God is with us through and through. Every second we spend on this Earth is time the Lord is taking to protect us. As humans we always feel the need to slow down, recover and relax, but our Lord is on guard always and at all times.
As believers we need to put our trust in him and thank him for his goodness. The Lord gave us the gifts of the sprit to help us trust in the Lord and to allow us to fully surrender our lives to Christ.
Prayer: Lord, help us to give all authority of our lives to you. We thank you and praise you  for the protection you have given to us all these days. We lift our eyes up to you and thank you for your goodness. We pray that you will help us put our trust in you. Amen.
Thought of the Day: Thank God for what you have Trust God for what you need
