WONDERFUL
IMPOSSIBILITIES
The
angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the
Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be
called the Son of God.
Happy Christmas! “Christmas”- The very word brings joy
to our heart. No matter how busy we are, when Christmas comes, there is still
the warm feeling we had as children. But when we look back to that event, it’s
difficult to understand, how this wonderful impossibility happened that day?. A
young man working in the army was constantly humiliated because he believes in
God .One day Captain wants to humiliate him in front of the troops. He asked
the man, who doesn’t know to drive, to park the jeep. With prayers he parked
the jeep perfectly. When he came out of the jeep, saw all of them crying. They
all said together “We want to serve your God. The young soldier was astonished
and asked what was going on? Captain opened the hood of the jeep showing the
young man that the jeep had no engine. This is our God. The God of impossible,
the God who give life to what does not exist.
Birth of Jesus Christ - An impossibility
Mary was virgin. Only God could breathe
life into her womb. Only God caused her to conceive the perfect sinless
savior-fully God, fully human. He can accomplish through you those things that
seem impossible in your life. "As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your
thoughts.”(Isaiah 55:9). But we had to trust those ways.
Birth of Jesus Christ- A difficulty
It’s difficult for both Joseph and
Mary—when the plans for wedding and honeymoon were ruined, to travel with Mary
who was expecting, when even the guest room was unavailable when the time came
for the baby to born. These impossibilities and difficulties changed to a
wonderful possibility with Joseph and Mary’s faith. Faith is the assurance of
things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Faith is taking a bold
first step in the right direction even when you don’t see where the next step
will take you. Mary said “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to be me
fulfilled.” Joseph did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took Mary
home as his wife. The unconditional “YES” of Mary and the complete acceptance
and obedience of Joseph to Lords plans gave us this wonderful happy day.
Today, in the world full of all the
insecurities in our life, all the crisis in our job, all the difficulties we
are facing….Let this faith –faith in the impossibilities—lead us to have a
meaningful possible Christmas.
Prayer: Thank you Lord, for the wonderful
possibilities in our life. Help us to be stronger in our faith.
Thought for the Day: “When God intends to make something
wonderful he begins with a difficulty. When he intends to make something more
wonderful he begins with impossibility” - Lord Coggan
