105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter
and the longest song in the whole Bible comprising of 176 verses. This song is
divided into twenty two sections, with eight verses each. Each section with a
title, such as “Aleph,” “Beth,” “Gimel,” etc. These words are the letters that
comprise the Hebrew alphabet. There are twenty-two letters in all, which
explains the song’s composition in twenty-two sections. The term “WORD”
is mentioned 30 times in 176 verses. The purpose of Psalm 119 is to give praise
to God for His Word, and then demonstrate how we are to conduct ourselves
in relation to the Word
The Psalmist in the Hebrew alphabet
of 'Nun', the fourteenth section of this song gives us eight evidences
expressing his purpose to live according to the Word of God and how he loves
the Word of God and his sincere belief in the Word of God. The message of Word
is Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world.
John 1:1 states - “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The term 'Word’ emphasis, the pre-existence of God, the co-existence of God and the Self-existence of God. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the Beginning and the End. Everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life (John3:15) and Jesus came into this world to give us everlasting life. Apostle Paul in Galatians 4:4 states, "But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons."

Psalms 119:105 highlights the power of God’s word to enlighten us without stumbling from the darkness of sin. As we stumble in darkness without light, we are lost without the Word of God. His Word exposes the sins of our hearts and illuminates the only way of deliverance from sin, which is in Jesus Christ. The Word of God is like a flaming torch. It is a light by day and lamp by night. He who walks in darkness will surely stumble, but he who walks by the light of day or by the lamp of night will not stumble but rather find life. Jesus said "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12).
In the following verses (Psalm 119:106-112), the Psalmist says, when you follow the light of the world, you will follow His laws and will take an oath and confirm it to follow His righteous laws. His word gives me life and I will praise Him. Though in the course of my life, I shall not forget your law but will keep it to the very end in my heart as the Word will shed light on my path from stumbling and falling.
PRAYER
Father God we thank you

our eyes to behold the wonderful things in Your Word. We ask in Jesus name,
Amen.
