Accepting the Savior in our Lives
Christin Mathew
Epiphany MTC, NY
19 and to know the love of
Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the
fullness of God.
In today’s day and age, we often get busy going about our business. That may include commuting, attending classes, working long hours, or taking part in various activities. At any given moment, we have a lot running through our minds. Sometimes, it can feel quite overwhelming. As a result, it becomes easy to lose sight of the fact that our Savior watches over us during each and every second.
In the early 17th century, there was a group of individuals who were persecuted in Europe for their beliefs. This group was referred to as the Pilgrims. They desired to practice their faith openly and without criticism, and we learn that this was the reason they moved from England to North America. They eventually landed in Massachusetts and formed a colony there. It should be noted that their decision to move elsewhere presented a number of obstacles. After all, they had to travel to another part of the world via a ship. Surviving the journey itself was not a guarantee. Diseases could have wiped the Pilgrims out, or their ship could have easily been destroyed in a storm. However, they were able to make a journey of more than one month across the Atlantic Ocean to Plymouth Bay Colony successfully. Such an accomplishment did not happen by chance. The Pilgrims put their faith in their Savior, and the Lord made sure that they traveled safely.
If the Pilgrims were able to put their lives in the hands of God, then why can we not do the same without hesitation? We need to accept Christ wholeheartedly and understand that we do not have the final say in the situations we encounter throughout our lives.
