Come Holy Spirit Renew
Dr. Thomas K. Jose

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
Paul divides people into two categories... those who are dominated by their sinful nature and those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that directs us to do what is right and what is wrong.
Galatians 4:22-23 it says “throw of your old nature and your former way of life which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead let the Holy Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature created to be like God truly righteous and Holy."
In order to live a victorious life we need the Holy Spirit in us always. When we trust Jesus completely and accept His Lordship the Holy Spirit lives in us. We will be empowered then to serve God and to do his will and we will become part of God’s plan to build up the church. The Holy Spirit is God’s promise of eternal life for those who believe in Him. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in us we can turn away all sin’s appeal and overcome the temptations we face every day.
We are no longer like the fearful slave but are the master’s children. Because we are God’s children we share great treasures as co-heirs. God has already given us His best gifts as His son, His Holy Spirit, forgiveness and eternal life. He encourages us to ask him for all our needs. There is a price also we have to pay for being a co –heir and being identified with Christ. There may be suffering, persecutions, imprisonment, illness, death, pressures from this world which are physically decaying and spiritually infected with sin.
Let us be assured of our strength and fort which is Jesus and let us be firm that nothing of this world can separate our love for Christ. We need His strength and power to continue a life completely dedicated to Him in purity and holiness. We need the presence of the Holy Spirit in abundant measure in order to achieve our goal. Let us pray this morning to renew and fill us in double measure with His Spirit that we can lead a successful and victorious life on this earth.

PRAYER
Almighty God, on
this beautiful morning we come to your presence with thanksgiving for all
the blessings received and for all the signs of your unfailing grace. Today as
we meditate on your word to renew and fill us with your Spirit to lead a victorious
Christian life. We ask that you bless us with your abundant mercy. Make us
certain and definite that nothing of this world can separate us from your
love. We thank you again for the life of Jesus your son, the Lamb of God
who came to manifest your salvation and eternal plan to redeem us from our
sins. In your matchless name we pray. Amen.
