Amazing Love, How Can It Be

this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be
the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
“I love this car!” “I think I’m going to love this class!” “I love you.” The word love in our society can sometimes be thrown around in a manner that ultimately clouds our understanding of what love truly is. When we refer to loving something or someone, our human love can be conditional, hindering our understanding of true love, which was brought into this world by Christ alone. Our human comprehension of love is limited when compared to what God’s love truly is to us, but once we are able to experience His love, it is one that we cannot deny.
You see, the beauty of Christ’s love for us is that He loved us when we were/are at our worst. He looked at us and said, I want her just the way she is. It might be hard to comprehend such a love, but our God exudes that type of love for us on a daily basis. One of the most significant traits of the Christian faith is the sacrificial love of God for us which is not found in any other religion. For us to experience love, we must experience Him and when we experience Him, we ought to share His love with others. Here on earth, we should be the reflection of His love so that others too may experience His amazing love that completes us in a way that nothing else on earth can.
We might have heard the word love said to us and at times, that image of love in our life might have been shattered due to ill experiences in the past, but God is one that longs to renew that shattered understanding. When He gave His one and only Son, He was thinking of you. Accepting Him and what He did for us is a way that we can experience His amazing love.
Today, take a moment to think about God’s love for you and know that you are deeply loved by Him. Take a moment to reflect on how you are showing that love to others.

PRAYER
Lord, we give thanks for Your love that you give to
us unconditionally when we do not deserve it. Thank you for your Son and thank
you for loving us when we were at our worst. Help us to reflect Your love in
all that we do. Amen.

FOR THE DAY:
Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, he loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God’s love encompasses us completely. –President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
