3.Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind
them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Are we faithful and obedient to
God’s commands? Walking in faithful obedience when God has not revealed His
steps along the way or the final destination may be challenging for many of us.
Faith
is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see
(Hebrews 11:1). We may have experienced difficult circumstances in our lives
where all doors of hope was lost due to situations like sudden death in the
family, medical illness, children's education etc. When things are not going
the way we want, we may not see the hand of God and we may not know what God
has in store for us. Even in the worst of circumstances, we must choose to have
faith and allow the Lord to use us according to His will and purpose.
The
Bible provides us many examples of faith. All through his long years of
difficulties, Joseph continued to walk with God. By his faith and obedience to
God, Joseph became the second-in-command to Pharaoh and the man in charge of
the whole land of Egypt. (Genesis 41:43). Through faith Sarah herself received
strength to conceive, and delivered a child even when she was past the age of
childbearing, because she judged Him faithful who had made the promise.(Hebrews
11:11). We know that God looks at things differently than we do. "My thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord
(Isaiah 55:8).
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths
straight”. (Prov. 3:5-6). If we recognize God's providence in our lives, we
will have reason to hope and rejoice. We should always remember that God’s ways
are not our ways. God always knows what is best for His children, if we would
only trust Him and wait for His will in our lives. Like Joseph, when we make
faith choices to do God’s will, God will guide us through the tough times in
our lives.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, help us to come closer
to You and understand Your ways. Lord, help us to understand Your plan in our
lives and wait for Your guidance.
