John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one
another as I have loved you.”
Jesus gave His disciples a new commandment just before He went to the cross. They were to love one another as He had loved them.
The Bible openly and repeatedly teaches that no Christian can have fellowship with God without fellowshipping with other believers. We know that we cannot walk with God if we do not walk in love with our fellow believers. For example, the cross on which Jesus died had two planks – a vertical and a horizontal one. Jesus came to bring peace not only between man and God (vertically) but also between man and man (horizontally) .We have to understand that the vertical and the horizontal relationship should go hand in hand. We cannot have the former if we ignore the latter. If we cannot love our own brother, how can we love the invisible God?
The love of Jesus Christ, we have been seeing is not self-centred. This is really an unselfish love.
1 Corinthians 12:26 says “God has put the body parts together in such a way that the parts have the same care for each other. If one part suffers, all parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.” The apostle Paul said that “The love of Christ constrains us.” That means we should love by giving ourselves to Him and to others.
“Love is giving for the world’s needs;
Love is sharing as the spirit leads
Love is caring when the world cries,
Love is compassion with Christ like eyes"
Whispers of My Father
“A bell is not a bell until you ring it,
A song is not a song until you sing it
Love in your heart wasn't put there to stay
Love is not love until you give it away”
― Oscar Hammerstein II
Remember that love has power and action. Love can open all the closed doors and it reproduces miracles in others also. One thing we have to remember is that love has no value unless it is shared with others. Love is indeed the greatest motivating force known to mankind, and it is born out of faith in God, the source of all love. So we need to love one another as He loved us.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
No one has ever seen
God: but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete
in us. 1 John 4:12
