Preparing for Prophetic Ministry
Phoenix MTC, AZ
9 So I went to the angel and told him to give me the little
scroll; and he said to me, “Take it, and eat; it will be bitter to your
stomach, but sweet as honey in your mouth.”
A child posed the following question to her mother: “Will God bless me for telling my friend about Him? Her family doesn’t go to church, and she seemed interested when I told her that God helps me.” The mother replied, “We should share the good things God’s done, even when we’re going through struggles.”

As children of God, we are called to spread the Word to those amongst us.
Revelation 10 details John’s vision of an angel with a scroll, and verse 9
emphasizes the resilient power of the Word of God. While the Gospel may be easy
to hear and provide solace to a believer’s ears, the powerful nature of these
verses can be hard to truly “digest” for believers and non-believers alike.
Processing the Words of God entails deep reflection, prayer, and a desire to
further a personal journey of faith. The Word is a “double-edged sword,” bittersweet,
and a recipient’s interpretation and acceptance of the Gospel are significant.
As the “sourness” of the words grows, the “sweetness” blossoms like honey.
Prophetic ministry can often be met with rejection
and, moreover, entails preparation to answer complex questions. While the Book
of Revelation is viewed as one of the most difficult Books to interpret, the
complexity of the Holy Bible exemplifies its beauty and furthers our hunger for
the Word. As we share our testimonies - whether in the workplace, school, or
community – we inspire others to center God at the core of their lives.
PRAYER
Lord, may Your words bless us and
guide us. We thank You for this day and for Your bountiful blessings. We pray
that Your light shines past our brokenness and unifies our minds, bodies, and
souls. Amen.
