Empowered By The Risen Lord
Revelation 1:1-8

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

In the Greek alphabet, Alpha is the first letter and stands for the "beginning." Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet and stands for the "end." Because God existed from before all time and will exist beyond all time, there is no room for another God. In Isaiah 43:10 it says, "Before me there was no God formed nor there will be one after me." It is hard for us to grasp the idea of nothing being here before our God. But the verse explains it all “He is, He was, and He is to come."

He is our Alpha and Omega, the beginning and our end. We live and breathe His name. In Job 33:4 it says, "The spirit of the God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life." We understand that He has planned everything in between. "Before a word is said on my tongue, you know it completely O Lord." Psalms 139:4. We fail to realize that God knows it all! We are too blind to see His plans, but with faith, we will be taken care of. Many people have said their biggest fear is not knowing what is to come; how little faith do we have! "When you ask, you must believe and not doubt because the one who doubts is like a wave tossed by the wind." (James 1:6)

When we were children, we only saw the good and believed everything. As we grow older, we tend to question everything and research things for ourselves. We may have even forgotten the stories we learned in Sunday school that God is Almighty. But we need to let go and place everything in God's hand. God has already taken care of everything, so we just need to have faith and let God do what He has planned because His plans exceeds our plans.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, we thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and forgiving us. You are the Alpha and Omega. Lord, help us remember that every day. In Jesus name. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
"A man who was completely innocent offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act."  Mahatma Gandhi
