Leading to the Perfection of
Creation
Proverbs 8:22-31

then I was beside him, like a master
worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, 31 rejoicing
in his inhabited world and delighting in the human race.
When God was creating man, God chose to set him apart from the rest of
His works. Man is the only work of God with God's own perfect breath and image
embodied into one. Why then do we view ourselves as less than God's own perfect
creation? In Proverbs 8:22-31, the object of inspection is not mankind, rather
the virtue of "wisdom." Wisdom is personified in Proverbs as it
speaks of itself as a beloved creation of God. "I was formed long ages ago,
at the very beginning, when the world came to be." If God had created such
things as wisdom and prudence at the very beginning, as he created man, we
should ask ourselves then if God intended for us to also have dominion and
possession of wisdom as well. Wisdom is written to be constantly at the Lord's
side, and if we are to truly understand and appreciate that we are the living
breath of God, why do we deny ourselves the good fruits of God's creations?
Often times, we lead ourselves astray, relying on our own judgment and humanly
wisdom to guide us through our every-day life.
Decisions become numerous and overbearing as we navigate family life, finances, career choices, relationships and commitments. Instead of seeking the Lord's good wisdom in all of these things, we stumble and get frustrated. However, the daily frustrations of life can be overcome. We were created alongside God's greatest work, and we are called His most intimate creation, sharing with Him His likeness and image. It is not only our gift, but our birth right to claim the good works of the Lord's hands. Only by this mentality can we truly lead a perfected Christian life through Christ.

PRAYER
Father, we know we
fail to truly understand the works of Your hands. You have created within us
Your perfect creation and yet we act as if we are worthless. Allow us not to be
consumed by the creations of this world, and instead lead us to the fruits of Your
love and wisdom so that we may be perfected in Your likeness and image. Amen.
