Cleansing Jesus
Gracious John
St. Andrews MTC, NY
For it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works,
so that no one can boast.
Daily we are reminded that if we want anything in life, we have to go out and get it. We have to earn it, in order to get it. So we work hard, we study, we apply our skills, and work overtime just to accomplish our goals. Sometimes we succeed, and still sometimes we fail. Think about something you are trying to earn in your life at this time and how much of yourself you are giving. It is a pretty intense thought, but this is a small reminder of how great God’s love is for us.
As we begin a new day, we are showered with new riches, new blessings, new mercies, and most importantly, grace. Every morning on my way to work, I am amazed at all the blessings of this world and life, but seldom remember to reflect on God’s greatest gift-His Grace and Love.
We are reminded that we could never “do” enough to “get” what we have been given. We have not received this because we are worthy or deserving, rather because we are loved. GRACE (God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense), is all around us and present abundantly because God knew that we could not pay the cost. God views us all as invaluable to Him. So much to the point that He gave His son for us.
So as we count our blessings today, let’s remember to count God’s Grace. Let’s reflect and boast on how much God loves us and how much He wants us to live in His grace. Let’s be thankful that God did not leave this for us to pay or earn. Let’s remember that even though we are given it freely, how great a cost it truly was.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you
for Your love, mercy, and Grace. Help us to boast only in You and to live our
lives in the shadow of your Grace. Amen
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Amazing grace! How
sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see. ~ John Newton,
