This passage narrates Jesus' call of the first disciples. We can see the response of different disciples when they encountered Jesus. The disciples of John said: "Look, the Lamb of God!" Andrew told his brother Simon that Jesus was "Messiah."
The response of Nathaniel demonstrates his willingness to learn more from Jesus Christ. Nathaniel was young, and was willing to learn from and his intention was genuine, and his response was quick.
This week, the church is commemorating the youth ministry of the church. One of the many challenges the youth, (along with the faithful) struggle with is the purpose and meaning of life. Many questions are asked; doubts exist. As a church, we need to provide adequate spiritual guidance and nourishment for them to experience the truth, as revealed through Christ Jesus. Along with our teachings, enabling all to be connected to the life, mission, faith, and ministry of the church is vital for the spiritual growth of the next generation. This comes not only through words, but by actions also.
Living out Christ's life is the biggest teaching and investment we could make. The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Galatians says: "Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow." (Galatians 6:7, NRSV) Let us invest in our younger generation so that the church and humanity will be transformed and have a brighter future.

PRAYER
Lord, enable us to take our faith life more seriously, and to invest in all generations so that we bear fruit for Your Kingdom, Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The youth are the future of the church. If there is no present, how will there be a future? Let us labor continuously so that we bear fruit and win souls for the Kingdom of God.
