Word for the day by Christian Education Forum
Christian Witnessing Among People of Other Faith
Psalm 67: 1-7
V1-2 "May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us- so that you may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations”.
God has given us his greatest blessing: salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This blessing is given to us not just us to enjoy it, but for sharing the joy of salvation with others. It is the responsibility of every Christian to witness Christ. The great commission Jesus gave his disciples before he ascended to heaven was, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the world”. We know his disciples fulfilled that commission. We don’t have to go faraway places to witness Christ. We can do that at school, at our workplaces and wherever we are. Our actions and words should reflect the love of God in us. Our humility, love, patience and the way we face problems in life, make us stand out. We witness our faith through our actions. People who are not Christians will see that there is something different in us. They will want to know what makes us different from others. We will be able to share Christ to others and they will praise God. God didn’t send angels to this world as his witness. He chose us to be his witnesses. Isaiah 43: 10-aa says, ‘You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen.”
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for the salvation we received through your death on the cross. Help us to share this salvation with others through our actions and words.
