 LENT- TRANSFORMATION OF CREATION

ISAIAH 40:26-31
Vs 31.    … but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be fainted.

Lent shall be a time of personal transformation. God created the world and sin crept in to the world from the beginning. The transformation work of God also started from the beginning and can be seen all through the bible from the beginning to today. John 3:16 says He loved the world so much that He sent His only son to the world to transform the perished, the ungodly, the ones who were immersed in sins, the wicked and the unholy. He came to the world to give everyone eternal life and he puts only one condition and that is to trust Him and believe Him. He wants us to have a sin free life and follow the glorious path that will lead us to eternity. Throughout history we can see God sending godly men and prophets to talk to people, make them aware of their sins and to repent and turn away. We the humans are sinners by birth as well as sinners by choice. There are occasions when we deliberately choose to lie, to steal, to covet, to gossip and be in anger and rage. Many a times we have not helped the needy and the marginalized the way we should have and extended a helping hand and were kind. We are also sinners by practice. The sins of yesterday by repeated performances have become a new normal for us and we make comparison with others to justify for our actions. God is a merciful God His mercy and love endureth forever. The transforming grace of Christ is following us everyday and is murmuring silently to our ears to turn away from our wicked ways and come back to Him. We are entering another lent season now. What shall be our goal?.is it going to be another season as always or do we want to make a change. Events of the world are forecasting His second coming at any time and time is of the essence. Bible tells us that He is a God of mercy. His mercy is so vast and beyond our comprehension that no matter what sin we have committed if we are ready to truly repent, come to the foot of the cross and plead, God will forgive and we can be with Him in paradise. Be assured that there is no sin we have committed that the blood of Christ cannot cleanse.
In today’s devotion we see the words of comfort that were given to Israel after their repeated warnings of punishment, as they did not bother to repent of their evil sinful ways. Nevertheless, as we have meditated today Our God is one of Grace, Mercy and Love. In His loving kindness He gives grace to the humble and renews the strength of those that wait upon Him by walk. God’s grace and strength is sufficient for us in all our difficult situations. He provides strength to the weary and weak that wait upon Him in faith. There may be times in life when those who boast to be strong and might may stumble and fall while the weak and downtrodden will fly high on their wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Let us evaluate our attitude, our faith, our life style alt let us modify and make changes where ever it is needed and meet the standards of our savior this lent season.

PRAYER
Lord almighty who is ready to sweep away all our offenses like a cloud and sins like the morning mist, have mercy on us this morning. Do not punish us but deliver us from our iniquities and pour out your grace upon us. Transform us lord and let our meditations, prayers and worship this lent season may be tools to get transformed to a new being, as your children. Lord graft us, the wild branches of olive, to the natural one of yours. Cleanse us and purify us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
