FAMILY: Replica of the Kingdom of God

  GAL 6;1-10
Vs 2. Bear ye one another burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ

In Mathew 7:21 it reads Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of God, but he who does the will of my father in heaven. Jesus in His three and half years of ministry on the earth taught his disciples and preached about the kingdom of heaven at length through sermons and parables. He has told Nicodemus the Pharisee to be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven. In Mathew 18:3 Jesus says unless you are converted and become like little children you will by no means enter the kingdom of God. It is evident by these statements that a person can enter God’s kingdom but there are certain requirements that must be met. Today’s topic for devotion is family, the replica of God’s Kingdom. Can we meet those requirements while we are members of God instituted family? God created man and put him in the garden to take care of it and keep it. He only had access to God when God visited him at god’s time. God Chose the time to visit him. In the New Testament God offers us a more glorious environment in that He is Immanuel in dwelling permanently among us
Family is the basic unit of the kingdom of God. A family that prays together stays together and each member of the family has the responsibility to keep the solemnity of the family and its attachment with the creator. There shall be love, peace, and joy saturated in the family that it can flow out or radiate to the world outside. The starting point of a God’s kingdom is therefore not confined to an individual, church, or a nation but to the core unit that is family. A family that lifts God’s name shall be the building block of society. God is the source of love, and He sent His only son to the world to redeem it from sin.
In today’s portion for meditation, Paul is writing to the believers in Galatia different practical ways to walk in love by the Holy Spirit and build up a strong family. As members of the family, we must help each other who are in need and share their burdens. If we find someone on the wrong track of life, it is the Christian responsibility to restore him back. We are not meant to rebuke or judge him, but our mission shall be restorative. We must mend the broken nets and strengthen relationships as a team. We shall cultivate an attitude of gentleness and humility. There shall be no room for exhibiting our pride, ridiculing others, or other acts of self-esteem. Paul says if one thinks he is something, he is nothing and he deceives himself.
Finally, Paul is emphasizing the point we must not lose heart in doing good. for in time, we shall reap if we do not grow weary. Let our families be a place of comfort, understanding, peace, joy, happiness, and unity where each one shares one another burdens. As each organ in a human body is essential for full functioning, a loving united family where there is love and praise, where God’s name is lifted will be a miniature God’s kingdom on Earth.

Prayer
Lord, you created us for a purpose that is to praise you and love one another. Let our families be a place where your grace and Mercy are experienced by its members. Let the world see and read you through the family life we can provide. Let Your name be glorified through us. Amen
