The Pandemic- which should lead us to a firm faith

Mark. 6:53-56

In this scripture portion, we could read the healing and transformational presence of Jesus Christ in the region of Gennesaret. This passage gives us certain lessons for our life.
1. Recognize the sufficiency of our master: Vs.54
When the crowd saw Jesus, they immediately recognized Him. Here the word“immediately” is of much importance because their recognition of Jesus involved knowledge of who Jesus is. It was not merely an intellectual knowledge rather a strong faith in God is sufficient to hold the weary. Have we ever recognized him in our life that he is sufficient enough to hold us? The more we found Him to be our own master and
redeemer; we will be convinced in His sufficiency.
2. The encounter motivated to become the catalyst of the Lord’s healing: Vs.55-56
Having “immediately” recognized him, they “immediately” ran out to bring people to Him for they already knew what He could do. When they recognized Jesus, they became the instruments of God’s healing to the world. The knowledge inspired them to do something for others who are less privileged. The people who identified Jesus went out for those who were in need, they labored to bring them near to Jesus and they placed the weak and weary where they could touch Jesus. Remember, we cannot be the same person after confronting the interventional presence of Jesus.
Dear Friends, we are in a terrifying time of uncertainties and crisis due to the pandemic. In the midst of the pains and perils, we should recognize His presence. We are called to strengthen our faith that God is present with us in the midst of our stormy situations. And He
is sufficient to take control of our life. If Jesus is the master of our boat, no matter how many storms come, no matter how great the wind blows; or the thunders may roll, Jesus is going to take control. And also, we are compelled to move with Jesus to heal others in this
unprecedented time.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, in your mercy, help me to have a deep-rooted faith that You are always with me. Enable me to become the channel of healing in this wounded world. Amen.
