Word for the day by Christian Education Forum
Resurrected lord-the co-traveler.
2 Corinthians 1:3-10 V8 He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ;
As we walk through the journey of life, we all face different challenges and struggles. Sometimes, the road can be difficult, and we may feel alone, lost, or discouraged. But there is hope, and His name is Jesus Christ, our resurrected Lord and Co-traveler.
In 2 Corinthians 1:3-10, the Apostle Paul reminds us of the comfort and strength we receive from God in times of trouble. He writes, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort."
Since Jesus lived the life that he lived, and died the death he died, and rose from the dead, as believers in Christ, we can find comfort in knowing that our Lord has conquered death and that He walks with us through our trials. He understands our pain, and He offers us His strength, grace, and love. Through the power of His resurrection, we can overcome our fears and doubts, and we can have the hope of eternal life.
Let us remember the words of Jesus to his disciples prior to the crucifixion, “I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!”
So, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Let us trust in Him, and let us find comfort in His presence. Let us also remember that our struggles can be used for His glory and the good of others. As we receive comfort from Him, let us share that comfort with those who are hurting.
May we always remember that we are not alone in this journey of life, for our resurrected Lord is with us, as our Co-traveler and our source of hope and strength.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, when the struggles of the world consume our thoughts and when we are distracted and not focused on you, please help us to remember that you are with us and that you have indeed overcome the world. We pray for wisdom to recognize that the moments in life when we see only one set of footprints, it was then that you carried us. Amen.
