 Why did Jesus come?

1 Timothy 1: 12-17

It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all

Basic gospel message in the whole Bible directly gives one answer to the question mentioned in the title “Why did Jesus come? “ is given in this verse. We may conveniently reach our inference depending on our personal needs and circumstances even commercialize His advent to this world. Though the Bible vividly teaches us His arrival for a special purpose, we preach and teach its essence by diluting to fit into our needs.
There are many unanswered questions to life’s vexing questions. We are distressed by our inability to solve even current advancement in many areas. The Bible tells us we can wait on the unanswered questions by focusing on one and only core issue of His arrival mission. Jesus existed before the Cosmos was created by God, though Jesus came to this world in human form He never gave up His divinity. He understands and sympathizes with us in our daily secular business, but his purpose was not to satisfy our curiosity. He saw us as fallen and hurt in SIN. He came to deliver us from the helplessness of our spiritual poverty, to release us from the shackles of our guilt, to heal our sin caused blindness, and set us free from sin’s enslaving power. The CEO of the universe came Himself to fix this human moral problem and even interacted personally to deliver me from this ditch. Everyone is a sinner by inheritance, or a moral wrongdoer there by an outcast. We have detached from God's friendship and fellowship thus alienated us. Jesus took the full burden of humanity's sin and exchanged His righteousness to us. This is the double imputation established at the cross. This is why Paul admitted himself as “Chief sinner “. He says in present tense that he is the foremost of all sinners. Paul did not make a scientific survey of all sinners at his era to become the chief, but he needed to depend on Christ on a daily basis till the end of his life.
If this process is so simple, we may be ready to sign up for this ready to consume salvation drink. But verse 16 says to "believe in Him for eternal life”. Let us therefore trust Him and obey Him is our highest goal. This is the path to a grateful, joyous, and hope filled life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we are so sorry for not identifying the purpose of your Son Jesus coming to this world and we join with Paul and say “we too are foremost sinners “. We need to depend on you daily till our last breath on this earth, Amen .
