 Glorification of Messiah through Death

Scripture: 2 Peter 1: 12-21

For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to Him by the Majestic Glory ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased’.  2 Peter 1:17

Peter wrote the letter to encourage the saints to grow in their knowledge of the Lord and to make their calling and election sure. He reminded them the authority of the Word of God to strengthen them in their pain, struggle and difficulties, Peter shares that this is not a myth, but with James and John, Lord gave them the privilege to be part of Transfiguration of Jesus. They heard from the father, in Majestic Glory, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased’.
Glory of the Lord: Glory of the Lord is honor, glory, and indescribable characteristics of God. Hebrew 1:3 says “He is the radiance of Glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and he upholds the universe by the Word of His Power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high’.  We are created to glorify God’s Majesty. Psalm 19:1 says ‘The Heavens declare the glory of God and the sky above proclaims His handiwork’.
How to glorify God?: We are created to reflect His glory through our life. If we are not living in God’s glory, we are missing the mark. His glory enlightens to see and experience His Presence beyond our five senses. We need to have the inner passion to be in His Presence. But our worldly nature, wants to worship the creations than the Creator. Romans 3:23 says ‘For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God’. Our passion must be to live in His Presence each moment of our life. 1 Timothy 6:16 says ‘who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, when no one has ever seen or can see. To Him, be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

Prayer

May the Lord enlighten us to worship Him by experiencing Lord’s Majesty to increase our faith, self-control, godliness, and brotherly love.

Thought for the Day
