Confession: Sacrament of Reconciliation With God and Human

    2 Corinthians 5:16-21

V.17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

In 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, the Apostle Paul reflects on the changing impact of faith in Jesus Christ. He emphasizes that through this faith, believers undergo a great change in their perspective and relationship with God. The central theme of this passage is reconciliation. Paul explains that God, through Jesus Christ, has reconciled humanity to Himself, despite our imperfections and sins. He highlights the divine act of forgiving and restoring the relationship between God and humanity. In this process of reconciliation, believers are called to be messengers and ambassadors of Christ, being given the task of sharing the message of reconciliation with others. They are to invite people to make peace with God through faith in Jesus. Paul highlights the idea that through Christ's sacrifice, believers become the righteousness of God, and their sins are forgiven. This passage serves as a powerful call, motivating believers to actively participate in God's work of reconciliation and redemption.

  • The Power of Reconciliation: This passage shows the importance of reconciliation, not only between individuals but also between humanity and God. In today's world, where conflicts and divisions are very much present, we can draw inspiration from this message to actively seek reconciliation and forgiveness in our personal relationships and work towards peace and unity in our communities and societies.

  • Being People of Good: The call to be ambassadors for Christ, spreading the message of reconciliation, is an endless lesson. Today, it reminds us of our responsibility to share acts of kindness, love, and forgiveness. We can serve as ambassadors of positive change, encouraging others to embrace goodness and work towards a more compassionate and truthful world. This passage encourages us to be messengers of hope and peace, actively engaging in acts of kindness and reconciliation in our daily lives.

Prayer
Lord, Thank you for showering your blessings and mercies on us everyday, thank you for saving us in times of need, and for being our strength and peace when we were weak. Lord thank you, for dying on the cross for our sins, even though we didn’t deserve it. Lord forgive us our sins for we have sinned against you and allow us to follow your straight path, praising your name. Allow this week to be a blessed one, be with us your children, and help those who are weak and in need, all this we pray in Jesus name. AMEN
