JESUS CHRIST -THE LORD AND GOD
Bible portion: Phil:2: 9-11
Verse: 11 And every tongue should openly confess that Jesus Christ is “Lord” to the glory of the father.
The death on the cross is the climax of Jesus's humiliation. Lord's humiliation
involved seven steps. 1.emptying Himself, 2. taking the form of a slave, 3. becoming in the likeness of men, 4. humbling Himself, 5. becoming obedient,6. Being obdient even unto death, 7. obedient unto the death on the cross. This chapter describes the need for confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord, which is to be uttered by men whether saved or not, all in heaven, earh and under the earth. Paul is speaking of the victory of the Lord Jesus earned through His sacrifice, the pain he endured on the cross, bo the weight he bore of our sin, death he suffered that we all deserved, his obedience to the will of the Father, and that the God exalted Him to the highest place. So His name is above every name, and at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and earth and under the earth. Every tongue will acknowledge Jesus Christ is lord to the glory of the Father. Servanthood ministry demonstrated by Jesus is exemplified through a paradigm of humility towards the goal of expanding the Kingdom of God.
Philippians 2 encourages us to live the way Christ lived. He gave His life for the glory of His Father and for the faith and salvation of mankind. As Christians, our ultimate goal is to become more like Him, to walk in humility to wards others, and in obedience to our hevenly Father. So the point to ponder ourselves is that Jesus did not exalt himself like satan claimed himself (isaiah 14:13-14) . There was no self elevation to the throne of majesty. But God exalted Him because of His humility and obedience to the Father's will. God placed Jesus at the highest seat of all authority and honor, so that every knee shall bow, and acknowlede Him as Lord and God.
The basis of anyone confessing and acknowledging Jesus as the Lord, is His exaltation and the authority given to Him by Father. This is the very foundation of our preaching and evangelism.

Prayer
Lord Jesus You are exalted and given the name above all names, all authority in heaven , earth and under the earth. Accept these your servants to be worthy enough to acknowledge and praise you as our Lord and master. We pray in the one and only precious name of our Lord Jesus . Amen.
Thought for the Day
We bow before him and acknowledge Him as our Lord and God
because He is not the Lord of the past, but He is lord of the present and future.
