In today’s reading we are reminded about God’s heart for the lost and our responsibility to find the lost. Through the parable of the lost coin Jesus is highlighting that everyone of us is precious to Him. The coin was so important to the woman that she looked for it until it was found. When she finds it, she invites her neighbors to celebrate with her, like how heaven rejoices when a sinner repents.
The parable is teaching us how diligent Jesus is to keep all those who He died to save. He will see that no one of His will be lost. The three parables in this chapter: the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son is a trilogy about redemption. A valuable asset lost, right steps were taken to look for it/self-realization happens in the lost person, lost asset was found, and the outcome was celebrated.
Jesus is highlighting our responsibility to find the lost soul through all the possible resources He has made available for us. This may be through our reach out to others, witnessing for Christ, touching people through our words and actions, especially when they are going through difficult times. When is the last time we have done this? How many have touched our lives through their kind actions. Do we reflect on this and reciprocate to the ones who are going through tough times?
Remember it is important to Jesus to find a lost soul and He has entrusted us with a big mission. Let us review our words and action and see how much of that is aligned to this great responsibility. Meditate on this and let us review our actions today and reflect on it at end of the day and see what can be done better tomorrow to reach out to a lost soul. With God’s help, we can do this in achieving God’s mission. Remember this is very important for God.

Thought for the Day
A warm smile, gentle word of appreciation and little act of kindness may very well be the first step towards winning back a lost soul
