 Freedom: Gift from God

Bible portion:2 Corinthians 3:1-6
 2 Corinthians 3: 4-5
Such confidence we have through Christ before God.  Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God

Devotion
In this context, Apostle Paul is referring to professional ministry. He talks about recommendations through this passage. How does recommendations play a pivotal role on professional ministry? Let’s see some recommendations from the Bible. Acts 18: 27says When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers and sisters encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed. Romans 16:1 says “With this letter I’m introducing Phoebe to you. She is our sister in the Christian faith and a deacon of the church in the city of Cenchrea.
Through the theme passage, Paul gives a direct recommendation from Christ for the people of Corinthians. Paul says we are the direct letter from Christ, not written with ink, but with the spirit of God. And not written on tablets of stones but written on tablets of human hearts. Now that’s an amazing recommendation from Christ for each one of us.
Ephesians 3:12 states that “In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence”. Freedom in Christ helps us to say YES to grace and a big NO to sin. Freedom helps us to choose and live Gods will on this earth. Also, it gives us access to eternity which is the promise from God. Freedom in Trinity gives us the special privilege to be known as children of God. How much love God has showered upon us that we are called as his children. We are bound by Gods grace and through this grace, sin cannot overtake us. We have the gifts and perfect recommendations to lead an ever-changing life and to bring others to the light of gospel. How dedicated are we to this mission? Are you ready to bring others to this belief and if so let’s dedicate ourselves to be competent before his word.

PRAYER

Dear Father, we thank you for this wonderful passage that you have given us to dedicate our lives. Help us to lead a transformed life and thank you for the confidence and freedom that you have blessed us with. Help us to renew ourselves and be a new creation and understand the importance of the unique role that you have blessed us with. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Thought for the day:
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 For 3:17).
