Embracing God’s Purpose in youth

Bible Reading:  Jeremiah 29: 11-13

Key verse:  For I know the Plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, Plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me.

DEVOTION

The main idea in this passage is God telling us he has a plan for us. This plan is not to harm us, but it’s beneficial to us. The plan is to prosper, grow and develop hope for the future. Many times, in our life, we like to take care of our issues independently.  We forget our Creator is looking over us.   His plans are way better than ours. He made us and knew what is beneficial for us. When Lord is giving us this assurance in verse 11, he is expecting some things in return. That is explained in verses 12 and 13. Call on to me and pray to me. When we call him and pray to him, he listens. Our God will not look away when we pray especially with tears.  Hannah, the Israelites, and Hezekiah are some examples of believers we see in the bible that prayed with tears and God listened to them. He will not bypass our prayers with tears. God listens to us, just like our parents listens to us. We must seek him with 100% in out heart. If you are fully dedicated to finding him, you will find God. Versus in Jeremiah is as assurance to us. These words reveal 7 powerful truths about God. 1. God’s word never lies; 2. God’s Timing is perfect; 3. God’s power is sufficient; 4 God’s plan is good; 5 God’s discipline is for our future; 6 God’s way leads to hope; 7 God’s love is everlasting. These verses are hope in our life through any storms in our life. God is in control and his love for us is everlasting.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, Thank you for giving us another day in our life. Many people had taken from this world, but you gave us another day with hope.  The hope of giving us the assurance that you have a plan. You have good plans for us even when we cannot see what they are. Lord, come and intervene in all the situations that we are concerned about. Give us what you want us to have and guide us through the difficult decisions we face. Take our hands and lead us to where you want us to go. Comfort us and Be with Us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

God have a plan for you.
