Family Dedication : Celebration of Relationship

Bible Reading: Colossians 3: 18-25

Key verse: “What ever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters”. Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬

DEVOTION

Family is the first institution that God established after creating mankind. It is the basic unit of society. We are appointed as Christ’s ambassadors in our family, therefore we must watch our conduct and conversation whenever we interact with them. Our speech must be seasoned with love.
God wants us to be disciplined and diligent with our household chores without over burdening others. No matter what we do, we must do it with excellence, being an example to our children. Maintain excellent relationships with family members through teamwork. Be reliable, forgiving, patient and industrious. We must be an example and mentor to our children.
We must be a witness for Christ to the next generation. We must utilize our time wisely by telling our children how the Lord has protected us and provided for us in the past. We must share our faith with our children and grandchildren. Our home is our pulpit, where we teach our children how to maintain and cherish relationships through unconditional love and compassion. We must be the light and salt of our family.

PRAYER

 Abba Father, we dedicate our family into your hands, enable us to celebrate and cherish our relationship with one another. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

God’s love binds us as a family.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation. God wanted some people to be separated for the special ministry among his people. God appointed Aaron and his descendants to take up this kind of ministry among the people of God. Priests are always separated and appointed as channels that connect God with his people.
