Significance of New Beginnings in the Liturgical year

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 43:18-19

Key Verse: Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness, and streams in the wasteland -  Isaiah 43 18-19

DEVOTION

Many of us who migrated from India embarked on a journey filled with uncertainty and new challenges. Today, we navigate a society where we face financial hardships, social anxiety, and deep concerns for the future of our generations. In this key verse, we encounter an active and compelling God, urging us to look beyond our shortcomings and witness his grand works. This serves as a powerful reminder that our God can overcome any adversity and lead us to a path of renewal and hope.
The God of new beginnings encourages us to be bold, reminding us that, through Him, we can achieve the seemingly impossible. Our past mistakes do not define us; we can make amends to those we have wronged, and success can emerge from places where we once faced failure.
Additionally, this passage invites us to embrace humility and righteousness. We must remain vigilant, as our past successes can fade if our vision diverges from God’s purpose. While we are a community with diverse needs and goals, we are called to look forward with faith, trusting that our God will clear a path through the toughest wilderness.
Let us look ahead with confidence in God’s vision, rising above our challenges with hope in our hearts and embracing the boundless possibilities that lie before us.

PRAYER

O’Lord, as we embark into a new year and take on new challenges, we pray that your blessings are with us and we stay strong in the lord. We pray that you open our eyes to see your hand at work and guide us into your path of renewal and hope.

Thought of the day

We have a renewed opportunity to set forth on a new and impactful vision. May it be not be bounded by our past failures nor it be miscontruted by our past success.
