Trust in the Lord: Journey of Faith & Obedience
Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6
Key Verse In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs3:6)
DEVOTION
When we talk about Faith and Obedience the first example that comes to our mind is that of Abraham; known as the father of believers and obedience. God did not spare Abraham from the test; He tested the faith and obedience of Abraham; and when God saw the extent of Abraham’s obedience told him, ‘’Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him; for now I know that thou fearest God’’.
The Bible has the story of prophet Job, who also was put to many severe tests. God allowed satan test Job by taking away his wealth, children and health. Prophet Job suffered so much that his family members told him to leave his faith in God and also asked him to reject God. Job lost everything but he refused to curse God. The story of Job tells us how to respond to suffering through faith and obedience to God.
The soul is more important than life is what Bible teaches us. Matthew 16:26 “ For what will it profits a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?’’ To save the soul strong faith and obedience are inevitable conditions. Life is a journey. Faith is a shield to a believer who is always seeking God. Tests and trials in life cannot be avoided but there is always a solution which is nothing but unwavering faith.
There is an assurance from Jesus as in Matthew 19:26 ‘’Humanly speaking it is impossible, but with God all things are possible’’
