Called by Grace. A life set apart for God

Bible Reading:  Galatians 1 :11-17

Key Verse :Vs 15.But when it was the  good pleasure of God who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through his grace.

DEVOTION

Sadhu Sundar Singh was originally born as a Sikh. As a young man, he was deeply opposed to Christianity, often mocking and burning Bibles to show his hatred for Christianity. However, his life took a dramatic turn after a personal crisis. In his desperation, Singh asked “The True God” to reveal Himself, and that night, he had a vision of Jesus Christ, who appeared to him and spoke words of peace. This encounter transformed Sundar's life, leading him to embrace Christianity wholeheartedly. Despite opposition from his family and community, Singh dedicated his life to spreading the gospel across India and beyond, living as a missionary and becoming known as "The Apostle with Bleeding Feet."
In the above portion, St. Paul recounts his calling, emphasizing that it was not of human origin but came directly from Christ. He explains how he was once a zealous persecutor of the church, yet God, in His grace, called him to a completely transformed life. This grace not only forgave Paul but set him apart for a divine purpose.
This passage reminds us that God's calling is not based on our past or our merits but on His unmerited favor. Like St. Paul, when we encounter God's grace, it redefines our identity and redirects our lives. We are no longer shaped by societal expectations or personal ambitions but are set apart to live for Him.
In a world that often measures worth by accomplishments, this truth is liberating. God's grace calls us to rest in His love and purpose. Like St. Paul and Sadhu Sundar Singh, our response should be to surrender—yielding our plans to God's will and allowing Him to lead us in a life apart for Him.

  PRAYER

Lord, thank You for Your amazing grace that calls us despite our imperfections. Help us to surrender fully to You, living lives that reflect Your love and purpose. Set us apart for Your glory and guide us daily in Your truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
