Entering the New Year with Confidence

Bible Reading:  Jeremiah 29:11-14

Key Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

DEVOTION

As we stand at the threshold of a new year, uncertainties may cloud our minds. Yet, God’s assurance through Jeremiah 29:11-14 fills us with hope and confidence. The Israelites, exiled in Babylon, longed for restoration, and God responded with a promise of plans to prosper them, not harm them—a future anchored in hope.

This passage reminds us that God’s plans are not always immediate but require trust in His timing. Verse 13 highlights our role: to seek Him wholeheartedly. Entering the new year with confidence begins by aligning our hearts with God’s purposes.

God’s promises extend beyond individual prosperity. He desires a relationship where we experience His presence through prayer, fellowship and faithful living. As we seek Him, we find the strength to face challenges and the assurance that He is working all things for our good (Romans 8:28).

Let us approach 2025 with the confidence that God is in control. Our uncertainties are opportunities for His divine plans to unfold. Trust His promises, seek His will, and walk into the new year with unwavering faith.

   PRAYER

Lord, thank You for Your plans of hope and a future. Help us trust You fully as we step into the new year. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
