“The Peaceful Reign of the Messiah”
Bible Reading:  Isaiah 11:1-9:

Key Verse: Isaiah vs7
The cow and the bear shall  graze; Their young ones shall lie down together.

DEVOTION

In Isaiah 11:1-9, the prophet Isaiah talks about a future leader who will come from the family of Jesse (the father of King David). This leader is the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Isaiah describes how Jesus will be filled with the Spirit of the Lord, giving Him wisdom, understanding, counsel, power, knowledge, and a deep respect for God. Unlike earthly kings who sometimes make unfair decisions, Jesus will judge fairly and with righteousness. He will not be influenced by what He sees or hears but will always do what is just and right. Isaiah also describes the kind of peace that Jesus will bring to the world. In His kingdom, there will be no violence or harm. Animals that are usually enemies will live together peacefully. Wolves and lambs, leopards and goats, lions and calves, and even children will be able to play safely near once dangerous animals like cobras and snakes. This shows us that under Jesus' rule, there will be perfect peace, where no one will hurt or destroy. The passage ends with a powerful message: the whole world will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, just as the oceans are filled with water. This means that everyone will know about God, and His wisdom and love will cover the earth completely. It will be a time of harmony, where people live in righteousness, fairness, and peace under the rule of Jesus, the Messiah.
Jesus Brings Justice and Righteousness:
Isaiah’s prophecy doesn’t just describe a great leader, but it reveals the ultimate fulfillment of God’s justice. In a world where power is often abused and truth is distorted, Jesus reigns with perfect wisdom and divine authority. He is not swayed by appearances or influenced by human deceit. Instead, He sees the heart, exposing corruption and defending the oppressed. His righteousness is not passive, but it actively confronts evil, tearing down systems of injustice. As His followers, we are not called to stand on the sidelines, we must live out His righteousness, standing for truth, even when it costs us everything.
Jesus Brings True Peace:
The peace of Christ is not just about stopping fights or avoiding conflict, it is a complete transformation of the world. Isaiah’s vision of wolves living with lambs is not just a beautiful image but it shows how Jesus will restore everything that sin has broken. His peace is not weakness, but true strength because it ends violence, heals broken relationships, and brings people together. Jesus calls us not just to live in peace but to actively bring peace (Matthew 5:9). This means forgiving others, choosing love over hate, and reflecting God’s order in a world full of chaos.

   PRAYER

Thank you for showering your blessings and mercies on us everyday, thank you for saving us in times of need, and for providing for us when we were weak. Lord help us and allow us to spread your message and word to those around us, and to those who don’t know about you. Be with us your children, and help those who are in need, all this I pray in Jesus name. AMEN
