Redemption for All Nations
Bible Reading: Psalms :87
All my springs are in you’ Psalm 87:7

DEVOTION

Psalm 87 is a a beautiful song depicting the redemption of all nations. Jerusalem is God’s Holy city chosen by God where at the end all nations will come together to worship the Lord. Psalm 87 says that God has founded this city, Zion on the holy mountains. Lord loves the holy city.  Zion’s spiritual significance is that it is the center of God’s redemptive work. The people from all nations Egypt, Babylon, Philistia, Tyre, Ethiopia and all will be part of Zion. This is God’s redemptive plan to bring everyone together as part of His kingdom.
As Galatians 3:28 says: ‘There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male or female, for you are one in Christ’. This is the prophetic image of God’s redemptive plan.
As Revelation 7:9 says, ‘After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands’. These are all who have accepted Christ as their savior and are part of the family of God. Lord Himself writes their names in the Book of Life.
Joy of salvation: ‘All my springs are in you’. The joy of salvation flows from God in Zion. John 4:14 says ‘but whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirst again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life’. It is the salvation for everyone. It is for all nations, making believers from every nation to be part of Heavenly Kingdom.
As Hebrews 12: 22 says, ‘But you have come to the Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem and to innumerable angels in festal gathering’. It is a celebration of redemption. It is the joy of worshipping and thanksgiving.
All my springs are in you. It is the sources of life and joy. All spiritual blessings are flowing from Zion - God’s dwelling place.  It points to Jesus. John 7:38 says, ’whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’.
As Revelation 21: 2-3 says, ‘And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming and they will be his people, and God himself will go down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, as their God’.

PRAYER

Lord, help us to understand your redemptive plan for all nations and help us to live in that love, peace and joy with everyone

Thought for the day

: The true source of life, peace and joy comes from Jesus. The believers from all nations will be worshiping and celebrating one day in Lord’s presence.
