Light that Clears out Darkness for GOODNESS
Bible Reading: Isaiah 42:5-10

6. “I, the Lord, have chosen you to do what is right. . . You will put into effect my covenant with the people of Israel.
And you will be a light for the Gentiles.
7. You will open eyes that can’t see.
    You will set prisoners free.
Those who sit in darkness will come out of their cells.

DEVOTION

The difference between a dark, cloudy day and a sunny day, the difference between a dark and a well-lit room is clear. The function of light is to give clarity and transparency. This is an overarching theme of scripture, where darkness is seen as a sad, lonely, and generally separate state of being that is contrary to GOD’S desire for HIS people to be fascinated in, indeed, this separation is ultimately death eternal, from which no one can be rescued.
Now the function of our eyes is, in itself, a complex camera; in the darkness the eyes are limited. For someone like me, complete darkness, and a lighted environment  are different, though my eyes in themselves cannot provide the same level of clarity and transparency as for sighted individuals. Physical blindness impacts my ability to see targets and the environment around me. It is our optic nerves, and the brain connection that help our eyes to transmit images for interpretation by our INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED brain.
As a result, this verse speaks not just of physical blindness but rather explains the strong hand and love of our LORD Jesus, THE FATHER’s MOST EXCELLENT servant. It is HE who has entered our existence as the son of man, and fully modeled true godly living, such that we, living in darkness and blinded by this without any aim, could see HIS TRUE LIGHT to illuminate our lives, use HIS guide in living and modeling this light to others, and bring us to eternal life that shall forever be lit by JESUS CHRIST our ONE TRUE LIGHT forever, amen.

PRAYER

Our precious JESUS, you are indeed our light that vanquishes all darkness and shows us in plain clarity the hope that is before us today, tomorrow and all eternity. Remind us of this in all circumstances, even those hard, dark moments we face. We love and thank you for your precious promise and love to us. In your precious name: Amen.

Thought for the day

To light the way for others, we must consistently live in HIS LOVE.
