The redeeming suffering & death of Jesus Christ
Bible Reading:  Galatians 3:11-14
Key Verse: “But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.”
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” Galatians 3:11-14

DEVOTION

Jesus’ suffering and death show God’s deep love for us. Though completely sinless, He endured pain and humiliation to bring us back to God. His sacrifice wasn’t random—it was part of God’s plan to save the world.
Paul explains that the law exposed sin but couldn’t save anyone. We couldn’t meet its perfect standard, so Jesus stepped in to take our place. He carried the weight of our sins, hanging on the cross and receiving the punishment we deserved.
Jesus’ suffering was an act of love and a way to make things right between humanity and God. He took the curse upon Himself so we wouldn’t have to. His death changed everything, moving us from guilt to grace.
We are saved, not by doing good works, but by believing in what Jesus has done for us. Through Him, God’s promises extend to all people, and we receive the Holy Spirit to guide us in a new life.
When Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30), He wasn’t admitting defeat—He was announcing victory! The price for sin was paid in full. His wounds bring us healing, His pain brings us peace, and His death gives us life.
It’s incredible to think about such love. The cross reminds us that even in suffering, God is working to bring hope and restoration. Today, let’s reflect on this amazing sacrifice and fully receive His grace.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for redeeming us from the curse of the law and bringing us into the blessings of faith and grace. Help us to trust in You alone for our salvation and to walk in the freedom You have purchased with Your blood.  Help us to trust in You, live in freedom, and share Your love with others. Amen

Thought for the day

The cross is more than a symbol of suffering—it represents love, sacrifice, and redemption. Through His blood, Jesus gave His life so we could receive grace. As Holy Week approaches, let’s reflect on His mercy and celebrate the victory of His death and resurrection, embracing the freedom He has given us—not by our own efforts, but through His sacrifice
