Christ Reigns Forever
Bible Reading:   Revelation 1:1–8

Key Verse: “‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’”   Revelation 1:8

DEVOTION

Take a moment to breathe that in: Christ reigns forever. Before time began, He was. Today, He is. And in every moment yet to come, He will be. In a world of shifting foundations and uncertain tomorrows, this truth remains unshaken; Jesus Christ is the eternal King.
John’s vision in Revelation opens with majesty and awe. This is no ordinary message. This is a divine unveiling from the One who holds all of history in His hands. The same Christ who humbly walked among us now stands in glory, reigning over heaven and earth. But His eternal reign isn’t distant. It is deeply personal. He’s not just the Alpha and Omega on a cosmic scale but in our life. He knows our beginning, He’s present in our now, and He holds our future. Through trials and triumphs, through heartbreak and healing, He remains.
This eternal reign calls for our surrender, not out of fear but in awe and love. If Christ is forever King, then his word is worth trusting. His promises are unbreakable, and his love is unstoppable. Let us ask ourselves: Am I living like Christ truly reigns in my life? Do I trust Him with my story, or am I clinging to control? Let His forever reign shapes our present choices, our daily obedience, and our deep assurance that we are never alone; because the King is on the throne, and He is with us always.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. You reign forever not only over creation, but over my life. Forgive me for the moments when I try to take the throne of my own heart. Teach me to trust in Your sovereignty, to walk in Your truth, and to rest in Your eternal love. Let Your reign shapes my every step. Let me live boldly, love selflessly, and serve faithfully because I know that my King is alive and victorious. Thank You for reigning in power and yet choosing to draw near to me in love. In Your mighty name, Amen.
