Jesus Christ Who gives New Vision to Life
Bible Reading:   St. Luke 18:35–43
“Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. St. Luke 18:40–41
DEVOTION

A large crowd followed Jesus on his final journey to Jerusalem. As He drew near Jericho, there was a blind man sitting by the roadside. Though the man was physically blind, he had the insight to realize that Jesus is the Messiah and the only solution to his problems. With the utmost desire, he was waiting for the opportunity to meet Jesus, and one day he perceived that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. His determination and intense desire to get healed were very much visible in his actions. He cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me”. His humble, earnest, and persistent prayer stopped Jesus. His request was granted and he was healed at that very moment. This healing teaches us that God answers sincere and earnest prayers.
Are we like the crowd who missed salvation and wholeness through Jesus the Messiah or like the blind man who moved from darkness to the Light through faith? Jesus asks us the same question today. What do you want Jesus to do for you today? Like the blind man each of us must first recognize and admit our need. So many are still blind to it. But when we do recognize it we need to do as the blind man did and cry out to Jesus for mercy; and Jesus will come to us and heal us in the way we need most, the healing of our relationship with God the Father by washing away our sin. So let us try to be like the blind man who truly saw his greatest need, not like those in the front of the crowd who were blind to the needs of others.
The first purpose of every person in the world is to seek after God and find Him.  Pray that they would begin to seek after God and that God would use you in their lives. Seeking to save the lost is to be a priority for every believer. There is no greater joy than seeing someone come to Jesus and get saved. May God help each one of us and our church help more people find salvation.  May this Lenten season enable us to receive spiritual sight and witness the savior in our day-to-day lives

PRAYER

Loving Lord, we thank You that You are a God Who hears and answers all our prayers.  Lord, open our eyes, heal our spiritual blindness and help us to follow you more closely, Amen
